Donate a heartbeat – a humanitarian campaign by the association 'A Big Heart for a Small Heart' and Dinamo’s 'Never Give Up' foundation.

Did you know that one in a hundred newborns is born with a congenital heart defect?

Did you know that in Croatia alone, 350 children are born each year with a congenital heart condition?

And did you know that today in our country between 10,000 and 20,000 people live with this invisible disease every day?

These children and their families are often labeled as “invisible patients.” Their struggle may not be visible at first glance, but it is real, difficult, and part of their everyday lives. In almost all cases, treatment leads to KBC Zagreb, the Institute for Pediatric Cardiology of the Department of Pediatrics, the only reference center in the country.

That is why the association A Big Heart for a Small Heart, in cooperation and with the support of Dinamo’s foundation “Never Give Up”, launched the humanitarian campaign “Donate a Heartbeat of Life”. The goal of the campaign is to raise €69,822.51 to purchase essential medical devices that will improve diagnostics and care for children with congenital heart defects at the Department of Pediatrics, KBC Zagreb.

You can find the full list of devices HERE.

These devices will benefit about 350 young patients every year, and during their minimum ten-year lifespan – more than 3,500 children will have the chance for a better and safer future.

However, the humanitarian campaign “Donate a Heartbeat of Life” will not stop at raising funds for the previously listed equipment. The campaign also has other equally important goals – raising public awareness of the problems faced by heart patients, highlighting the work of the association A Big Heart for a Small Heart, and addressing the growing issue of heart disease among professional athletes.

The campaign officially began on Monday, September 29, on World Heart Day, and will run until December 25, 2025. All collected funds will be paid into a special humanitarian account opened at Zagrebačka Banka: HR5123600001503681909.

By participating in this campaign, you give children with congenital heart defects the chance not only for better medical care and a safer childhood but also for a brighter, more peaceful future…
